·        PAPER DRIVE: A paper drive truck will be here until February 26.

·        PIZZA NIGHT:

·  Everyone is invited to Eastside’s 6th annual Pizza/Game Family Night on Saturday, February 17, 5:30 – 7:30 pm, take-out available after 6:30 pm, at Eastside Christian School. Come for fresh homemade pizza and pop, board and card games, ping-pong tournament, basketball in the gym, and much more!

·  Your help is needed! Please consider signing up to help with the 8^th/9^th Grade Pizza Night fundraiser. Here are some opportunities to serve:

·  donating shredded mozzarella cheese – 35 lbs needed

·  working in the gym organizing/overseeing activities

·  supervising the teen room

·  cleaning up at the end of the night.

Several people are needed for these positions. Contact Dawn in the school office (942-2939) if you are able to help us out. Thanks!

·        PROMOTERS: The Meeting scheduled for February 15 has been canceled. The new date will be March 8. We encourage new members to attend.

·        HOT LUNCH: This week Carol DeVries and the Junior High will be serving Blimpie Subs, Chips, Ice Cream Bars, and Pop. Snack Sale providers are Cheryl Corson, Sarah Windemuller, and Rajini VanFarowe.

·        MARTIN MANS CONCERT: Famous Dutch Organist Martin Mans will be presenting a concert Friday, March 9^th, 7:30 p.m. at First Methodist Church, 227 E Fulton SE. Tickets can be purchased through Eastside, 942-2939, for $5 per person or $20 per household; seating is limited.

·        BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME:

·  Thursday, February 15, Eastside vs. Hope 8^th at Hope, 4:00 p.m.

·        TRIP: Cash ‘n Carry available Mondays and Fridays from 2:30 to 3:00 p.m.

·        CATECHISM HELPERS: This week Julia Herring and Carol Monsma are watching the kids.

v      OTHER NEWS:

·        MICHIGAN MERIT CURRICULUM: All parents are invited to a meeting to learn about the Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements and exam. The meeting will take place at Covenant Christian High School on Thursday, February 22 at 7:30 p.m.

·        PANCAKE BREAKFAST: Plan to attend SW Church Young People’s Pancake Breakfast on March 3, 2007 in the fellowship hall. Breakfast will be served from 8-11 a.m. Homemade cinnamon rolls will also be available. Proceeds benefit the 2007 YP Convention. We look forward to seeing you there.

·        DONATIONS: An auction to benefit the 2007 Young People’s Convention will be held on March 24^th at Adams Christian School. If you have anything you would like to donate that could be auctioned at this event please call Lorraine DeVries at 791-4613 or Arlys Vink at 878-1919. More details to follow and we look forward to seeing you all there.

·        HOCKEY/ICE SKATING PARTY: The Hope Foundation Hockey/Ice Skating Party will be held on Saturday, March 31, at Walker Ice & Fitness Arena later. Please save the date!

·        AUCTION: An auction to benefit the 2007 Young People’s Convention will be held on March 14^th at Adams Christian School. Dinner will be served from 4:30 p.m. till 6 p.m. with a silent auction starting at 5 p.m. and the live auction beginning at 6 p.m. We would appreciate denominational support for this event to benefit our young people. Thank you in advance for your support!

·        CCHS 4 ON 4 VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT: The women’s division is full, and we are accepting a few more teams for men’s division. Please call Denise Uittenbogaard at 669-2037 by February 24 to enter your team.
