Final Thoughts on the International Aid Visit
It’s been a week now since we packed up the soap, the toothbrushes, the toothpaste, the shampoo and the towels that we had been collecting since sometime early in December and prepared ourselves to go to visit International Aid in Spring Lake, Michigan.
We thank all those who provided transportation and
supervision for the day.
Our day began with devotions in the morning. We read and reflected on the words of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Matthew
25:31-40, where Jesus answers the questions of
those who have inherited the Kingdom
of Heaven with these words: “Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have
done it unto one of the least of these my brethren ye have done it unto me.”
With these words resounding in our hearts we packed the gift
of soap, shampoo, towels, toothpaste, and toothbrushes and made our way to
International Aid in
Spring Lake.
The total collection that we could take to International Aid
was 778 items. Had we not been robbed in
early January we could have brought an additional 120 items. This means that if we figure conservatively
we believe that a collection of approximately $1500 was given for this project. This means that each child was able to give
approximately $25.00 in merchandise to those who someday may need these
supplies because of some catastrophe.
We thank all those who helped in this important campaign.
To God be all the glory.
